An ancient meditation practice that feels new!

I’m a huge fan of Yoga Nidra. It’s an ancient guided meditation that is known as “yogic sleep.” I practice it before I go to bed with Reiki or when I feel stressed at least one a week. It helps me stay calm and if I listen to a meditation at night, I usually fall asleep before it’s over.

Yoga Nidra promotes a state of deep rest and may help you unwind. During Yoga Nidra, you will feel completely relaxed, while still maintaining conscious awareness. With the help of verbal prompts, the meditation is easy to follow and is good for beginners and experienced practitioners. Try it at home or where ever it is quiet and you feel most relaxed to get the best result.

Practicing Yoga Nidra during the day strengthens my ability to focus and also creates plasticity in my brain because I’m shifting my awareness during the meditation like a relaxing mental workout without all of the thinking. When I’m through with the practice my brain feels less stuck in that tunnel vision kind of way and is more able to receive and process new information.

The cool thing about Yoga Nidra is that you’re aware of what is going on around you.

Yoga Nidra meditation is easy to follow and is good for beginners and experienced practitioners. I created a Yoga Nidra meditation with Reiki for you to try at home or where ever you feel most relaxed.
