The Upside And Downside Of Herd Immunity For African-Americans
Most people don’t have a favorite epidemiologist, but we do! Her name is Dr. Tiffany L. Gary Webb and she’s the first African – American woman to receive tenure at the University of Pittsburgh. She’s an Associate Professor in the Departments of Epidemiology and Behavioral and Community Health Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public Health.
We spoke with her on the Built By A Boss podcast about the adverse impact of Covid-19 on African – Americans. She explained herd immunity, mandating vaccines, global cultural differences and how altruism may be the key to our collective, public health as more stay at home orders are lifted around the country.
